Update to the Penton Cricket Club Charity Match Sunday 3rd August.
The Penton Cricket Club Charity Match between the Penton 11 verses the Invited 11 in aid of “the Roy Hurcombe Trophy “took place despite the light showers expected.
The first ball was bowled by invited Guest Sir George Young MP with great applaud from team cricketers and the supporters.
The Roy Hurcombe Trophy was presented to the winning team the Invited 11 Cpt Mr Dave Ling.
After the match the Auction and Raffle and BBQ held at the local White Hart Inn was a great success due to everyone’s support.
The Event raised a grand total of £1,520.00 in aid of Brave Hearts Children’s Charity Special Child Appeal Fund.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone concerned with the event and a big thank you to all who donated the wonderful prizes for the auction and raffle. A Presentation Cheque £1000.00 was donated to Sian Russon and family in support of her children at the evening auction at the White Hart Inn, Penton Mewsey.
